Review:

Patricia Reilly Giff is a very talented writer. Unfortunately, I don’t recommend many of her books, but I definitely recommend this one! In A House of Tailors, 13-year-old Dina is sent to America and is excited to leave her tedious work in her mother’s sewing shop in Germany. However, Dina’s new life in America is not what she expected. This story has wonderful messages about hard work, family, perseverance, hope, endurance, attitude, friendship, and appreciating your gifts and talents. It also gives the reader insight into daily life in Brooklyn in the 1870s. The plot is clever and engaging.
