Albert Schweitzer could have been a famous doctor, a philosopher, or even a brilliant pianist and composer, but instead, he felt called to serve the people of Africa. He spent his life dedicated to them, not just giving his time but most of his money as well. He used his many talents to keep a hospital running and eventually turned it into a well-respected medical presence in Africa. I was impressed by the way the author was able to draw me into the story and overwhelmed by Schweitzer’s willingness to honor God even in difficult situations.
