Balto and the Great Race

Review:

This is an exciting tale of the origin of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race where a community rallies to get necessary medicine to a remote village in Alaska. It tells of one particular husky that, against all odds, struggles to lead his team to deliver the medicine to those sick and dying in record time. This is an easy read and includes wonderful depictions of the wintry Alaskan countryside using wonderful language and varied sentence structure while showing positive character traits of courage, strength under pressure, and kindness.
