Here Comes the Bus!

Review:

Carolyn Haywood is one of my favorite authors for early readers. While many of her books are a part of a series, Here Comes the Bus! is a stand-alone. The story follows the main character, Jonathan, and his funny, but wholesome stories at school. This is an example of a book that makes everyday, gentle stories interesting and humorous without the need for constant thrill, action, or unrealistic adventure. I love that the book promotes strong family relationships and respectful behavior.

Books that score high in literary value include exceptional writing, use of literary devices, and a rich vocabulary. All books on The Good and the Beautiful Book List are well-written, but some have a higher literary value than others.
