In 1768, newly orphaned Peter York has been adopted by a deeply religious Quaker family. When two runaway indentured servants are reported to be fleeing through his community, Peter is determined to catch them and receive the award money for something he deeply desires. However, Peter questions the right path to take when he comes across one of the runaways. This wonderful story is a little slow in the first two chapters, but the rest of the book is captivating. I love the heartwarming and unexpected ending.
