This is another great book by Cynthia Rylant. In Appalachia, a boy named Frankie waits beside the tracks each year waiting for the train that will bring Christmas gifts to the children. He longs for a doctor’s kit, but never receives one. Will he fulfill his dream of being a doctor? This gentle story is nice and has great messages.
