In the wilds of Alaska, Mama Island is home to a rocky shore, a sparkling sea, fragrant pine trees, and nine dachshund pups! Jeanne Marie and her parents have their hands full taking care of the wiggling, playful dogs in addition to handling the daily work of building a homestead. Jeanne Marie loves living with the pups on her very own island, but when she makes a big mistake, she must learn to overcome her guilt and sorrow to become the kind of caretaker her beloved dachshunds deserve.
