Review:

I didn’t know there was so much to learn about honeybees until I read The Hive Detectives: Chronicles of a Honey Bee Catastrophe. In this incredibly informative book, readers learn the basics of honeybees: bee anatomy, types of bees and their jobs in the hive, the parts of the hive, and how the bees collect and use pollen. The book also explains the different types of beekeepers and the important roles bees play in agriculture. Then readers learn of the tragedy that started in 2006 and continues today: Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD). They will get a fascinating look at how researchers have approached this problem and what they’ve done to improve the health of honeybees. This book is the perfect addition to a science or bee study!
