Review:

Judy and Johnny turned the little donkeys around. They rode as fast as they could. They rode up the steep path to the Lookout Tower. “Fire! Fire! Mr. Lee!” they called. These three delightful stories, illustrated by Lucia Patton and set in the Colorado Rockies in the 1940s, have messages of kindness, service, courage, and respect for nature. Children will enjoy following the adventures of Johnny and Judy in the first two stories when they save the day by alerting the forest ranger of a growing forest fire, and later when they learn how to pan for gold. In the third story, Randy loves to watch the trains go by every afternoon. One day he notices that something is wrong with his favorite freight engine. Can Randy help protect the train from the incoming Crimson Rocket?
