The Puffin Keeper

Review:

The Puffin Keeper is a heartwarming and beautifully illustrated story of a boy named Allen, a lighthouse keeper, and a place called Puffin Island that hasn’t been home to any puffins for decades. Allen faces many challenges in his early life, including surviving a shipwreck, living with unwelcoming grandparents, and being sent to a boarding school where he doesn’t fit in. But he embraces the good in life, uses his talents to help others, and helps to bring joy and puffins back to Puffin Island. Especially sensitive readers may find the beginning of the book too sad, but the majority of the book and the ending are happy and uplifting.
