Clyde Robert Bulla is the author of more than 50 books for children. The Secret Valley tells the adventures of the Davis family as they travel from Missouri to seek their fortune in California during the Gold Rush. Children will learn a lot about the time period as they read this wholesome, sweet story that ends with the family discovering “a different kind of gold.” My seven-year-old daughter loved this book so much, she asked if there was a sequel. This book is 100 pages, the print is large, and illustrations are included.
