The Voyage of Patience Goodspeed

Review:

It’s 1835, and 12-year-old Patience Goodspeed is not excited to depart from Nantucket, Massachusetts aboard her father’s whaling ship. Patience misses her late mother and is heart-broken to leave behind her education in exchange for kitchen duty on the ship. But as the voyage continues, not only do unexpected adventures arise, but she grows closer to her father, learns courage, and finds a way to continue on her education. This story is well written, wholesome, and engaging.
