Originally published in 1942, this Pulitzer Prize-winning biography of Christopher Columbus gives a truthful, authoritative, insightful, detailed, and engaging look into the life and voyages of Columbus. The author, an American historian born in 1887 who was also a sailor and scholar, recreated Columbus’ voyages before writing the book. Replete with rich, stunningly beautiful language, the book is a delightful read and features exemplary writing. In a world that misconstrues the truth about Columbus, this 670-page book is a treasure and a worthwhile read for all teenagers and adults.
