American Girl Mysteries Series
The books in the American Girl Mysteries series are written by various authors, and we have found them to be hit or miss. Some contain inappropriate behaviors made to seem acceptable, such as dishonesty or disrespect toward family members and others, but the ones that we do recommend are fun, clean, and exciting mysteries that expose readers to different time periods and settings.
Books in this series we recommend: A Bundle of Trouble, The Cry of the Loon, The Jazzman’s Trumpet, Midnight in Lonesome Hollow, The Smuggler’s Secrets, The Stolen Sapphire, The Thief in the Theater (note: this one does briefly mention ghosts and witches, because it involves a production of Macbeth)
Books in this series that did not make the booklist: A Growing Suspicion, Lost in the City, Peril at King’s Creek, The Runaway Friend, The Silver Guitar
Books in this series that we have not yet reviewed: A Spy on the Home Front, Clue in the Castle Tower, Clues in the Shadows, Danger at the Zoo, Danger in Paris, Intruders at Rivermead Manor, Lady Margaret’s Ghost, Menace at Mammoth Cave, Message in a Bottle, Missing Grace, Puzzle of the Paper Daughter, Secrets at Camp Nokomis, Secrets in the Hills, Shadows on Society Hill, The Cameo Necklace, The Crystal Ball, The Curse of Ravenscourt, The Finders Keepers Rule, The Ghost Wind Stallion, The Glowing Heart, The Haunted Opera, The Hidden Gold, The Lady’s Slipper, The Legend of the Shark Goddess, The Light in the Cellar, The Runaway, The Showstopper, The Silent Stranger, The Tangled Web, The Traveler’s Tricks, Traitor in the Shipyard, Traitor in Williamsburg
