Celia Planted a Garden
Beginning as a small child, Celia Thaxter planted a garden every spring and filled the earth with the beautiful sight and smell of plants. She appreciated nature and the joy it brings. Even when she had to move to a different island during the long winters, Celia always kept the pink roses and purple pansies close to her heart by writing poems. My favorite part of this story is when she nurtures and cares for a frozen hummingbird, and brings it back to life. Reading this book has inspired me to take care of God’s wonderful creations.
