Diary of an Early American Boy
My 13-year-old daughter loved this book. She picked it up out of curiosity and started reading a little, and then she couldn’t put it down. The literary and educational value are fantastic. History in Review wrote: “Eric Sloane has taken a 15-year-old farm boy’s brief, concise notebook and expanded the daily entries with explanatory narrative and his own remarkable drawings. As a result, he has preserved the simplicity and charm of a bygone era.”
