Door to the North
I enjoy Coatsworth’s books and have for many years. She writes with complex sentences and literary devices. This book tells the story of the Viking expedition to America in the 14th century, what may have brought them here, what they found when they got here, and all of the adventures in between. The term “Skraeling” is used a lot for the Inuit people (common Norse term) which may or may not be offensive to some people. It’s also made clear in the writing that the Vikings were a harsh people, both in action and language, but there’s nothing I would consider inappropriate.
