Guarding the Treasue by Linda Finlayson is a refreshing and accessible history of the origination of the Bible and Christianity. Our family learned a lot about the different writers and translations of the Bible as we read. Finlayson adds dialouge and occassional one page informative articles on things like: Living in a Monestary or How Paper was Made or What Does. There is one story of a slightly dysfunctional family where the father disowns his son. After the father dies, the son wishes he could have reconciled his relationship with his father. I felt like it was told in an appropriate way. This book is suggested most as a family read aloud.
