My 12-year-old loved this book of six different tales. Reviewer Wayne S. Walker wrote: “The reader is given a humorous and affectionate look at life in Midwestern America during a time when things were a little slower. Find out how a pet skunk helped capture a band of bank robbers, what happened with Uncle Ulysses’s new doughnut machine . . . among other interesting events.” Most boys and girls will enjoy the humor in this wholesome, fun book, which is considered a “modern classic.”
