Honey Cake

Review:

David, a 10-year-old boy, during the Nazi occupation of Denmark in 1943, finds a way to be brave and help stand up against the Nazis.
This is an engaging, enjoyable book that is very tastefully written about difficult events in history. This book had strong themes of family devotion, being brave, doing what is right, and helping others who are in need and have different beliefs than you. While the characters are fictional, it’s based on real-life events and is a great introduction to history while still being appropriate and sensitive to young readers.
