Through the opportunity of running her own little shop, Maida, the daughter of an incredibly wealthy man, turns from a pale, lonely, lame, listless girl, to a delightful, happy, healthy child. Maida is not allowed to let people know who her father is. It is delightful to follow her journey as she makes friends for the first time in her life. The book is very fun and very well written. However, it is more challenging. The first chapter is a little difficult to get through, but then the story takes off. This is the first in a series. I have not reviewed any of the other books but will add them as I review them. Maida’s Little Shop does not leave you at a cliff-hanger and works great as a stand-alone.
