Review:

Taking place in Wales in the late 1700s, this true but short story describes how a young girl, Mary Jones, saved up money for six years and walked 50 miles barefoot to buy her own Welsh Bible. Her actions led to millions of copies of the Bible being made available to others in their native tongue. Her story is an inspiring example of working hard and sacrificing to obtain important things in life. This is a short book (150 pages), written in somewhat quaint, old-fashioned language, but it contains lovely descriptive writing and elevated vocabulary. This feel-good book greatly inspired me to place more value on the scriptures and to work hard toward worthy goals.
