It was refreshing to read a book where the teachers are displayed as kind and are respected and loved by the students. This story, while not having strong, direct messages, is funny and fun. I love the illustrations and the overall feeling. It is also imaginative and contains no inappropriate material. I didn’t love the book by the same author, Mrs. Toggle’s Beautiful Blue Shoe, because the principal character acted very strange (trying to get a shoe out of a tree by calling to it and by tempting it with food like you would a cat).
