Old Mother West Wind by Thornton W. Burgess

Old Mother West Wind

Review:

This classic is Thornton W. Burgess’ first published work (1910) and my favorite of all his works. The writing is wholesome, charming, creative, clever, and full of great description. These timeless tales include gentle moral lessons and winsome characters such as Mother Nature, the Merry Little Breezes, and animals such as Reddy Fox and Jimmy Skunk. This book works great as a family read-aloud—just the right kind of lovely stories to fill children’s minds with before they drift off to sleep. However, this is not a book for reluctant readers.
