Primrose Day

Review:

I consider this book by the author of the popular Betsy series, written over 70 years ago, a classic. Because of WWII, Merry Primrose Ramsay must leave England to live with family in America. One reviewer wrote: “It’s wonderful that this book is still in print, so modern children can experience a slower-paced society, where people rode on trains and ocean liners, young girls knew how to knit, and children didn’t need electronic games to entertain themselves.” I love the refreshing way the children in this book treat adults, siblings, and classmates with respect and kindness.
