Rose Daughter

Review:

Robin McKinley is a master writer, and Rose Daughter is my favorite book of hers that I have read. The book contains no profanity (unlike most of her books, unfortunately). There is one word that some may consider profanity, but I did not. This unique and compelling retelling of “Beauty and the Beast” has well-developed characters and wonderful messages about courage, compassion, strong families, kindness, humility, hard work, and love of nature and animals. However, the story is so intriguing, readers will hardly realize how much they are learning about noble character as they read.
