Review:

Sky of Bombs, Sky of Stars is the beautiful true story of Tuyet Morris, an orphan from Vietnam during the Vietnam War, who was part of the airlift operation to evacuate at-risk orphans. This story follows 8-year-old Tuyet through the evacuation and into her new life in Canada, where she is adopted by a beautiful, loving family and faces her next challenge—correctional surgery on a foot that sustained serious damage from polio earlier in her life. I absolutely loved this book and found it to be a beautiful, inspiring story full of many people whose brave actions and love impact the life of one little girl in momentous ways. The main character and supporting characters show incredible courage, perseverance, compassion, and resilience during difficult circumstances, and I came away from the book feeling uplifted and inspired to make a greater difference in the world.
