This short book (53 pages with many illustrations) is a Newbery Honor book written in 1954. It takes place in 1707 and tells the true story of young Sarah Noble. Children should find this book very interesting and fun to read while also learning lessons about early America, courage, and perseverance. It is so refreshing to find such a well-written, interesting book that references God in several places. For example, “The Lord did not speak out loud, or at least Sarah didn’t hear Him. But all at once she knew what to do.” I highly recommend this fantastic book!
