The Wild Robot tells the story of Roz, a robot who ends up shipwrecked on an island. She becomes friends with the other animals, adopts an oprhaned baby duck, and learns how to survive in the wild. The writing is fun and humorous, and it features messages of friendship, kindness, and selflessness. Note that there is a little violence toward the end that could be scary for younger kids.
