Wulf the Saxon—A Story of the Norman Conquest
Many homeschool families use G.A. Henty’s historical fiction books as part of their history instruction. Henty’s books are said to be very historically accurate, and they are written from a Christian worldview. The books are very well written and contain a rich, varied vocabulary as well as examples of high moral principles such as courage, honor, and integrity. Although the books are challenging reading (many compound-complex sentences, lengthy detail, and elevated vocabulary, all of which are fantastic for exercising the mind), the stories are very engaging. Wulf the Saxon: A Story of the Norman Conquest takes place during the Norman Invasion of England. The book contains no objectionable language.
