Many homeschool families use G.A. Henty’s historical fiction books as part of their history instruction. Henty’s books are said to be very historically accurate, and they are written from a Christian worldview. The books are very well written and contain a rich, varied vocabulary as well as examples of high moral principles such as courage, honor, and integrity. Although the books are challenging reading (many compound-complex sentences, lengthy detail, and elevated vocabulary, all of which are fantastic for exercising the mind), the stories are very engaging. Wulf the Saxon: A Story of the Norman Conquest takes place during the Norman Invasion of England.
