Year of the Black Pony
This engaging and wholesome story pulls you into the Oregon desert in the early 1900s. I believe both boys and girls ages nine and older would enjoy the book. I found it hard to put down and felt like I learned a lot about the location and time period. The story contains gentle messages about family, forgiveness, kindness, and hope. The Audible version is great!
